Becoming a Makeup Artist
Makeup artists use cosmetic products to accentuate a person’s features with makeup. Their services may be used in theater, film productions or fashion photoshoots and events.
To become a makeup artist, you must possess the following attributes:
Education
Makeup artists require at least a high school diploma or GED certificate, with many attending cosmetology training programs or apprenticeships before becoming licensed professionals. Special effects or photoshoot makeup certification may also be sought after as industry-specific certifications.
